I live in Austin, TX and try to come to Danny's every couple of years to escape the Texas heat in the summertime. I have been coming to Danny's for the past 16 years. I've rented the big house that sleeps 10 for me and my family. We had more than enough space for the 8 of us and enjoyed the beach on Lake Huron only steps away from our rental. The past 2 times I stayed at Danny's I rented a cabin which sleeps 6 I believe, and it was awesome! There were 5 of us total and we had plenty of space. The kitchen was equipped with cookware, dishes so we didn't have to worry about using throw away plates and cups. The bathrooms and bedrooms were spotless. The deck on the lake was incredible. We were able to sit and watch the sunset every night. The owners were very pleasant and helpful and accommodating. Their son Matt whom I think helps maintain the facilities was very helpful and accommodating as well. I didn't know that they had FREE wi-fi and Matt was quick to tell us how to log on. Quite honestly, we had so much fun and were so relaxed, the last thing that was really on my mind was checking my email. All in all, Danny's is a home away from home, if you are looking for a place that is quiet, relaxing and rustic, this is the place for you!
The cottage we stayed in was great. The owner whom is a lady is just rude. I have never met anyone whom would flat out lie to their guest. When we were leaving the room some Q-tips fell out of my bag. Wasn't planning on going back into the cabin because we thought we had everything. I was told that I left her cabin in a terrible mess. I always clean up after myself especially at places like this. I wasn't aware that we had to remove the trash either because when we checked in we were just asked to sign and they copied my husbands drivers license. We stayed for less than 24 hours. How much of a mess could have honestly been made. She then went on to say how hard she works. I think most people work hard I know that I work 60 hour weeks sometimes! I feel bad that she felt disrespected but how could a couple q-tips and a pizza box mean that a room was destroyed?
